Venetian Plaster originated in Italy in the eighteenth century as an alternative method of decorating churches and buildings of royal status when using solid marble was impractical. It has since been perfected to an art form all of its own and has a stunning mirror effect after being burnished, waxed and polished. It is a highly textured finish that can be decadent in bold colours, or more subtle and refined in lighter hues.
